So I finally got ombre hair & I love it!! For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to seriously color my hair & get highlights. However, I’ve always been super scared to do it because all my friends that had the most thick, beautiful & healthy hair ended up seriously damaging it with color. One of my friends had all her hair to fall out. Another ended up turning her hair green(it was a mess but she rocked it lmao!). So I wasn’t taking any chances! Only last year before my high school homecoming, I had it dyed for the first time ever. Although there was a noticeable color change, it was still pretty subtle. Not the drastic light brown/blonde mixture I’ve always dreamed of.
I fell in love with ombre hair around that same time last year but it seemed complicated & I wasn’t about to risk messing up my hair. I know that 2 toned hair has been around forever but 3 to 4 tones that fade from the darkest to the lightest color?! Oh yeaahh! The digital designer is all about the gradients lol. So I watched a crapload of YouTube videos to find the technique that would make sure my color faded from dark to light without any lines of demarcation. I went to my local BSS & purchased everything that had been recommended. Except I bought the Argan Oil because it’s my favorite stuff EVER & I bought the wide tooth comb because I just needed one. Everything else shown, I used except the blue pack of Kaleidocolors & not pictured is the 20 & 30 volume developers I used.
I called my older sister Tasha over to help me. I let her watch the vids & we went from there. She messed up the 1st strip of hair bc she forgot to backcomb it before applying lol. She realized it before continuing & made sure she remembered as she continued the rest. It came out great except the right side came out a lot lighter than the left. I also realized I wanted the color to go higher up than it was so I ended up having to go back to the store 2 days later to get 1 more pack of Bw2, another brown pack of Kaleidocolors and more creme developer. I bought a razor to cut my hair(something I’ve NEVER done) but everything came out perfect! I even fixed the first strip that was messed up at first with the trusty ole razors lol! I can’t believe I didn’t cause a disaster as I have 0 experience with this kind of stuff!… No REALLY! So do we likey?!
